The draft law № 3911 “On Amendments to Article 259 of the
Criminal Code of Ukraine on Strengthening Liability for Knowingly False
Reporting of a Threat to the Safety of Citizens” was adopted as a basis today.

In particular, the responsibility for knowingly false reporting about the preparation of an explosion, arson or other actions that threaten death or other serious consequences is increasing in the form of imprisonment for a term of two to six years and confiscation of property.
According to the National Police of Ukraine, from January to March 2020, 213 criminal proceedings were initiated under this article. Last year – more than two thousand.
